Dr. Abbas K. Zaidi

Dr. Abbas K. Zaidi is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and is associated with System Architectures Laboratory, George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia.

From 1999 to 2002, he worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and as Dean of the Faculty, at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University in Karachi, Pakistan. Prior to that (1995-1998), he served at the Department of Computer Science, University of Karachi, Pakistan, as an Assistant Professor. During his stay in Karachi, he visited George Mason University as a Senior Research Scientist in the School of Information Technology and Engineering at two occasions. He has been affiliated with the System Architectures Laboratory at George Mason University since 1990, first as a Graduate Research Assistant (PhD) and then as research faculty.

His research interests include Distributed Intelligence Systems, Intelligent Controls, Temporal and Spatial Modeling and Planning of Discrete Event Systems, Validation and Verification of Architectures Rule-based Systems, and Colored Petri Nets.
